Well, the one down side to this week... We had to clean the Elders apt. this week..... that was an adventure on its own....
We taught Domingo twice this week. they were okay.. we are still not sure whats going on. its super weird.. we taught about Families and temples on day and serving and learning in the church. Those were super fun. I love teaching about families and temples!! that is one of my favorites! i am so grateful to have a wonderful family and that we are sealed to one another ! what a great blessing that is! Also through the Lords grace and mercy He makes salvation possible for everyone who did not have the opportunity to receive, understand, and obey the gospel during their earthly lives. Thats why temple and family history work is so important. i think i just goes back to the love that Heavenly Father has for us. Like in the Plan of Salvation , he gives us a second chance in the spirit world to accept and learn about his gospel.. like the people who live in a po-dunk town in China who have never heard of a Jesus Christ. His love is everywhere! God is love! Domingo is also back on date for June 10th! hopefully everything works out and he continues to progress!
We also taught a sweet lady named Maci. shes a potential investigator and we are not sure if she is really interested. She just said that its good to know about other religions so we are all on the same page. we will see if shes more interested later.
We had a few dinners with members. my favorite was with the Krum family.. so the Krums are soooo intense . almost scary. but they are super awesome and missionary minded. we went in and we had them teach US what they know of the Restoration and what it means to them. it turned out to be a very awesome spiritual discussion. so awesome! we also read D&C 4 . "If any of you have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work." weither your a set apart missionary or a member.. if you have a desire to serve God.... Go.!
Another one was with the Oaks family!! that is probs my fav. family here... they are also sooo missionary minded. they pray for different families to share the gospel with every week.. thats so awesome! Sister Oaks gave us a hudge sack of food and left over pizza we had that night. she also said "if you get a plastic sack of food on your door step... youll know who its from;)" hhaha we taught the plan of salvation to them. we used a cute vidual my mom sent me and the kids loved it!
We went tracting alot with the elders recent convert, Victoria! Shes so awesome! she just randomly told us she wanted to go tracting with us so... of course we are going to take her up on that offer. so we did and tracted alot! She has such a big desire to share the gospel!
we Saw sister Owen again. we talked about families! again my favorite. this time we brought our family pictures and showed them to her and talked about how important families are. sad part about that was that our lesson was cut short.:( but oh well.
We met with a LA and she is helping us make a presentation about family history work that we are doing about family search in our local library to the genealogy club that meets here! thats going to be scary! She has offered to help me on my family history.. so hopefully we can take her up on that offer!
We went to the library with Sister Crippen, and found out that she got her Patriarchal blessing, so she printed it and she was so over joyed! that was such a fun experience! those are a great blessing we have as members!
Our District meeting was really good!! WE all shared a 3 min. talk that we prepared about a Christ like attribute that we want to work on. i chose Virtue. i want to work on having good positive, and uplifting thoughts. cause as some of you may know.. missionaries do have a period of time where they get discouraged.. and i dont want to dwell on it when it does happen. so i am memorizing one of my favorite scriptures.. Alma 26:37 ill let you know how that goes this week. we also watched a cool video called : Christlike Attributes.. go watch it. its on Mormonchannel.org
WE volunteered at the Fish Hatchery in Spearfish. we pulled weeds and stuff. so that was fun! it wasnt so hot so im thankful for that! we then had to go clean the Elders apt. they left it with nothing cleaned out.. like their fridge... and freezer,.. their bathroommm...............
luckily we had the Strugis Elders and the Zone Leaders. they made it fun!
OH and i forgot to mention;.. last week after District meeting we went to the Sturgis motorcycle museum! so that was SICK! i think i have some pics.
This week we have been trying to find people and it was crazy because we got this call from a guy that was moving to Spearfish with his friend. Well to make a VERY long story short. They had met the Elders at the homeless shelter the day before and they shared the Restoration with them. Well they called us asking where the church was and that they wanted to meet with us..... we were astonished and thought for sure someone was pranking us. We called the Elders who had met with them and they told us the whole story. We still thought that maybe the Elders were pranking us.... well we went to meet the guys that night and it was all true! So that was super exciting! We will see what happens! So now I know I really need to work on having Faith!!!
I love this gospel with all my heart! I know that Christ came into the world to do His Fathers will, and His Father sent HIm into the world to be lifted upon the cross. i know that those who exercise faith in Christ, repent of their sins, and are baptized can be sanctified by the Holy Ghost. If we endure to the end we will stand spotless before Christ. Christ will hold us guiltless before the Father. He will be our Mediator and Advocate!
