zone conference, and alot of cleaning!

Well, i wrote out my email and accidentally pushed delete .. sooo great!

We havent met with Domingo since our last visit. we just got one call from him this week. it wasnt a good one. He told us that his family told him that they dont want him getting baptized and he said he didnt know what to do so he basically just dropped us....  we tried calling him all week but no answer.. we stopped by his house acouple of times.. no answer. we were supposed to have a lesson this week with his to, but he didnt show.. so sad! but i know that in the Lords timing all will work out!

We had to deep clean the Elders apt. this week. We, thankfully, had the help of a cute senior couple, Elder and Sister Winward. but with the 4 of us it took 6 hours!! yep you read that right.. 6!!! but it had to get done.. you becha we talked to Elder Spillet at Zone Conference.. lololo jk!

We had a good lesson with sister Crippen! i almost burnt her house down. that probs would have been fine because she has a TON of big spiders crawling around.. We did a demo with a sticky note, a erasable pen, and a lighter. we talked about Christ Atonement. On the sticky note you write their name, and you talk about how in life we go through trials we make mistakes, and all of that. that when you scribble on the paper with that erasable pen. then you talk about how with the help of the savior
and through Him we can receive forgiveness and comfort. Cause he know exactly how we are feeling and whats going on. He wants to help us!! so you take the lighter and but the flame behind the paper and the heat will take away the ink of the scribbles. it was so cool. but i burt like half of the paper.. but oh well!

We saw a few members too.   we got fed by a few of them too. but not a whole ton.

The referral i think i told yall about last week from the Black Hills ward elders.. we met with one of the. his name is Chirs. It was a crazy, hectic lesson. his brother just committed suicide and it was just all over the place. we ended up sharing some scriptures and talkng about how through Christ we can feel comfort.. we just have to ask for His help. Jacob 3:1

The Wehrungs little daughter got baptized this week!  she was so cute! we ended up filling up the font for them. it was when we were on exchanges so i took over the area with Sister Feeney! that was fun too! we had chalk and drew the Plan of Salvation at the park! we tracted alot too. lots of Doors slammed, some BOMS handed out, some cards handed out, and laughter!

we had Zone Conference today! us and the Pierre Zone had a combined ZC. it was so great cause alot of the missionaries i served with in Minot my first area were there cause they got transferred to the Pierre zone! it was so much fun and great to see familiar faces! Elder Hamblin from my MTC district is now in my zone, so i was super happy to see him again! President Stacy from my mission presidency had a training about mosquito and ticks!! the worst training every.. lol jk it was just gross!! Sister Hess also gave a training about teaching repentance. She had two companionships come and role play infront of EVERYONE>. and guess who she picked.. Sister Kotter and I.Sister Kotter is in my Zone. It was so scary!! ugh but it went okay! We taught the Word of Wisdom to and "investigator".. mad that was scary, but thanks to the spirit, i didnt fail!

We are starting to see alot of bikers come! its soo cool!

A lesson we like to teach to members and LA is Alma 50. its about when Moroni fortifies the land of the Nephites. they dig up heaps of earth and put timbers and pickets and towers around their city. we like to make it towards us and our families. and we need to protect our selves from the lamenites(satan) , so we like to ask what is our heaps of earth, pickets, and timbers? they are going to church, BOM, Bible, sacrament, following all the commandments, prayer, tithing and fasting, FHE, ect. and the towers, or the watchmen are you know, Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, and the Prophet and Apostles.  so there are alot of commandments and things we are given that we need to use to help protect us from the adversary, and sometimes we dont do some things, so thats when satan can get in and hurt us or our families. so i challenge you to pick a fortification that you are struggling with and to work on it. cause i know that  when we do our testimonies will grow stronger! i promise you that!

I LOVE YOU AND AND THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT! if you want im open to getting letters;) haha

have a great week and memorial day!

stormy and fun week!

Well, the one down side to this week... We had to clean the Elders apt. this week..... that was an adventure on its own....

We taught Domingo twice this week. they were okay.. we are still not sure whats going on. its super weird.. we taught about Families and temples on day and serving and learning in the church. Those were super fun. I love teaching about families and temples!! that is one of my favorites! i am so grateful to have a wonderful family and that we are sealed to one another ! what a great blessing that is!  Also through the Lords grace and mercy He  makes salvation possible for everyone who did not have the opportunity to receive, understand, and obey the gospel during their earthly lives. Thats why temple and family history work is so important. i think i just goes back to the love that Heavenly Father has for us. Like in the Plan of Salvation , he gives us a second chance in the spirit world to accept and learn about his gospel.. like the people who live in a po-dunk town in China who have never heard of a Jesus Christ. His love is everywhere! God is love! Domingo is also back on date for June 10th! hopefully everything works out and he continues to progress!

We also taught a sweet lady named Maci. shes a potential investigator and we are not sure if she is really interested. She just said that its good to know about other religions so we are all on the same page. we will see if shes more interested later.

We had a few dinners with members. my favorite was with the Krum family.. so the Krums are soooo intense . almost scary. but they are super awesome and missionary minded. we went in and we had them teach US what they know of the Restoration and what it means to them. it turned out to be a very awesome spiritual discussion. so awesome! we also read D&C 4 . "If any of you have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work." weither your a set apart missionary or a member.. if you have a desire to serve God.... Go.!
Another one was with the Oaks family!! that is probs my fav. family here... they are also sooo missionary minded. they pray for different families to share the gospel with every week.. thats so awesome! Sister Oaks gave us a hudge sack of food and left over pizza we had that night.  she also said "if you get a plastic sack of food on your door step... youll know who its from;)" hhaha we taught the plan of salvation to them. we used a cute vidual my mom sent me and the kids loved it!

We went tracting alot with the elders recent convert, Victoria! Shes so awesome! she just randomly told us she wanted to go tracting with us so... of course we are going to take her up on that offer. so we did and tracted alot! She has such a big desire to share the gospel!

we Saw sister Owen again. we talked about families! again my favorite. this time we brought our family pictures and showed them to her and talked about how important families are. sad part about that was that our lesson was cut short.:(  but oh well.
We met with a LA and she is helping us make a presentation about family history work that we are doing about family search in our local library to the genealogy club that meets here! thats going to be scary! She has offered to help me on my family history.. so hopefully we can take her up on that offer!

We went to the library with Sister Crippen, and found out that she got her Patriarchal blessing, so she printed it and she was so over joyed! that was such a fun experience! those are a great blessing we have as members!
Our District meeting was really good!! WE all shared a 3 min. talk that we prepared about a Christ like attribute  that we want to work on. i chose Virtue. i want to work on having good positive, and uplifting thoughts. cause as some of you may know.. missionaries do have a period of time where they get discouraged.. and i dont want to dwell on it when it does happen. so i am memorizing one of my favorite scriptures.. Alma 26:37 ill let you know how that goes this week. we also watched a cool video called : Christlike Attributes.. go watch it. its on Mormonchannel.org
WE volunteered at the Fish Hatchery in Spearfish. we pulled weeds and stuff. so that was fun! it wasnt so hot so im thankful for that! we then had to go clean the Elders apt. they  left it with nothing cleaned out.. like their fridge... and freezer,.. their bathroommm...............
luckily we had the Strugis Elders and the Zone Leaders. they made it fun!
OH and i forgot to mention;.. last week after District meeting we went to the Sturgis motorcycle museum! so that was SICK! i think i have some pics.

This week we have been trying to find people and it was crazy because we got this call from a guy that was moving to Spearfish with his friend. Well to make a VERY long story short. They had met the Elders at the homeless shelter the day before and they shared the Restoration with them. Well they called us asking where the church was and that they wanted to meet with us..... we were astonished and thought for sure someone was pranking us. We called the Elders who had met with them and they told us the whole story. We still thought that maybe the Elders were pranking us.... well we went to meet the guys that night and it was all true! So that was super exciting! We will see what happens! So now I know I really need to work on having Faith!!!

I love this gospel with all my heart! I know that Christ came into the world to do His Fathers will, and His Father sent HIm into the world to be lifted upon the cross. i know that those who exercise faith in Christ, repent of their sins, and are baptized can be sanctified by the Holy Ghost. If we endure to the end we will stand spotless before Christ. Christ will hold us guiltless before the Father. He will be our Mediator and Advocate!

May 15, 2017
His week was soo awesome! got to see my family!!
We had a few dinners this week aswell so thats awesome!
We did so much service this week. We helped at the Museum, helped out weeding at the Spearfish fish Hatchery, and mowed a LA's lawn. and can i just say.. there are so much bugs! haha
we Helped Sister Crippen request her Patriarchal blessing, she was so excited! It was so cool to see the joy in her  eyes enjoying the blessings of the gospel. Teaching her has helped me learn how to teach with discussion.
i am so thankful for that
we had a fun Relief Society activity this week that we got to go to ! we played speed friending! so its like speed dating but making friends with all the sisters. it was so fun to get to know them better!
we met with Brother Clyde. He was one of the LA's the elders were working with. it was kinda awk but good. We read JSH 1-20 and talked about faith and JS. i love talking/ teaching about JS. he had so much faith to just even pray. even though he had noidea how to out loud. i am so grateful for him and the Restoration of this gospel and the Joy and happiness it brings me!.
We went and saw sister owen! Shes totes my favorite! She has such a passion for sharing the gospel. even though she is in a nursing home she tries to share the gospel with everyone she sees.. even the workers!!! She loves reading the BOM and i love hearing what she has to say. She rarely gets visitors and it makes me so sad! i wish we could see her everyday. we talked about Prophets and watched the new First Vision. i am so thankful we have a living prophet today, Pres. Thomas S. Monson! I know that he recieves revelation from HF and Jesus Christ. he loves us and is directing the work today!
We only had 1 lesson with Domingo this week.. we talked about Tithing and Fast Offerings. He committed to pay tithing once he becomes a member, and he was so excited to be baptized. He hasnt told his family that he is getting baptized until now. and when he did, they wernt mad that he was just mad that he didnt tell them sooner.. they told him that he should wait. and he doesnt know what to do. but know he isnt answering or returning our calls and didnt come to our lessons that were set up this week. so i hope everything is going good.  cause we know nothing.
Brother and SIster Stednick drove us to Culvers in Spearfish and got us ice cream! #blessings
the Zone Leaders came to our District meeting this week. it was cool to seem them since they are like 1 hour away.. we did some trust falls too as our role plays.. haha
we knocked some doors and found some awesome potentials!
we had a lesson with Victoria(the Elders Recent Convert) at the Stednicks. we had some good dinner! can you take a guess what we had.,... deer...
haha we talked about the importance of daily prayer and scripture study! it made me so grateful to have those tools to help us day to day. i love reading my scriptures and praying! it helps me come closer to my father in heaven and savior.
Also the Wehrungs fed us the other night too and we had tacos.. but can you guess what the meat was.,,.. deer! like OH DEER everyone loves that stuff., its so good!
IT was so good to skype my family btw!!!
i am so thankful to be a missionary and to serve the lord! its so fun out here and to experience so many new things! and meet awesome people!
i love you and and thanks for the love and support!

craziness, bye Sister D'Vaz:(,NEW GATOR

May 8, 2017
So this week was crazy cause we dont know how we need to run both areas, but we are getting the hang of it.
on monday we had our last pday with everyone. we had a fire, roasted mallows and we played a bit of pod-ball:). we had a lesson with Domingo and we watched the Prophet of the Restoration movie. He prayed at the end and he was more than willing to do it. which was good.
we went and visited Sister Crippen and we talked about repentance, we were going to do a fun object lesson but forgot to bring the things we needed, so we basically winged it. Daily repentance helps us have stronger faith and hope. it helps us grow. we then had dinner with Elder Spillett and Porter cause we needed to talk about their area before they left that night and got their area book. it was bitter sweet;) haha we also taught a LA family that we found last week. the Philips. we taught the restoration with a jesus puzzle and that went well. we got their kids involved, since they didnt want to last time so we got them to read some scriptures. yay go us!

WE GOT a new investigator! HIs name is Jarrett Ingam and hes, i think in his 20s. he lives with his girlfriend who is not interested and might or might not have a baby.. we taught the restoration, he doesnt really like the thought of a prophet.. someone who is held more higher. but wither than that it went well, he prayed at the end and wants us to come back. We saw sister Owen again. Shes still going alright. we had to help her get from her bed to her chair. its so sad. i love that lady so much! we talked about obedience and showed a short little mormon message.. cant remember which one tho. God gives us commandments for our benefit. he also gives us agency to choose. when we obey, we follow the influence of the spirit and choose to conform to His will. Obedience brings us peace in this live and eternal life in the world to come. obedience shows our love and respect for  God.
we taught domingo in the church with Sister Langfitt! We taught him the ten commandments with the little hand movements to go with it. and also the Law of Chastity. so that was fun. He offered to say the prayer this time! he prayed that his family would want to come to his baptism. sooo sweet!
we taught Bill again in the Buchholz home this week aswell. it went okay but i think that his heart is just not soft enough to full accept the restored gospel. He cant get past the fact that he doesnt know everything and that there is no artifacts that he knows of. so we are still deciding on what to do with him. We had a really good District meeting this week. we talked about light. the light of Christ and our light/testimony. we watched a video and at the end it said "spiritual light doesnt come to those who sit in darkenss waiting for it. it takes an act of FAITH to open your eyes to the light of Christ."  The spiritual influence begins with the LIght of Christ but we have to have faith and be willing to act to find it!
we taught the Elders Investigator Adam. Hes moving so that was probs the only time we were going to see him. it was so hard cause he is so knowledgable. like he reads the bible in Hebrew and greek.. he studied every religion out there too.  we had dinner at a members, the Oaks and that was the best!! i love that family so much! sister oaks looks like Mallorie Davis so that was crazy! haha we read alma 50 and talk about how we can build our fortresses around our families. we committed them to take the lessons from us to help strengthen their family! we are going to be seeing them today!
back to domingo. He didnt come to church this week, cause his brother needed help in Rapid City. so , after banging on his for for like forever we got to talk to him.. lol we watched the YSA broadcast that night aswell, and that was good.  we then went and saw the LA the elderds have been working with.. not going to lie, we was kinda creepy, but really nice. He is a returned missionary and has a strong testimony but is just to lazy to come to church, so we pushed him on coming so hopefully he comes soon!
we are also going to be doing service at the Spearfish Fish Hatchery once a week! i am so excited! its going to be so much fun!
I cant wait for sunday, Mothersday to skype my fam!!
i am so thankful for this gospel and the blessings and happiness it brings!
Also it is Deathly HOT here! lol just in case ya wanted to know!

crazy transfers, lemonade stand, Left our mission

Hey Everyone,
So Bishop finally invited us over to his house for dinner. Now that was a great night!! all i remember from that night was laughter. they are a great family!
WE went and saw Sister Owen. its so sad because she is quickly going down hill and i just love her so much! She has a strong testimony, and she has so much faith in her Father in Heaven. we went and watched the video called "the Savior understands me" by Elder Holland. it was so good. she also sang her a song. Joseph Smiths first prayer to the tune of 'If you could hie to kolob."
it was so awesome! the spirit was so strong. even though it was to a different tune Sister Owen still sang with us. shes an awesome lady!
We left our mission boundries to get to Alzeda Montana where a member of our ward lives. that was so much fun! they live on a ranch in the middle of no where. we got to go walking in the mud to pet their animals. we taught them from 1Cor15-16. basically the last half of the plan of salvation.! we talked about why we need to change. we need to change and be clean so that we can live with God and Jesus Christ! we didnt get home til around 945 cause its about 1.5 hours away! but none the less so much fun! I can now say i have left the mission and came back!
We had lunch at the Whatleys again. Brother Whatley makes the best food,. we talked about member missionary work and how no effort is wasted. cause its not. you have given them(non members or LA) a clear choice. we need to diligently move forward. you have planted seeds and given them a chance. people are being prepared to recieve the restored gosple. it may not be their time right now but you could be helping them. keep inviting!!
WE ACTUALLY FINISHED WEEKLY PLANNING IN TWO DAYS!
we had a really good District meeting! it was our last one all together.  #sad.
i have learned that we either can enjoy our mission or endure them. i choose enjoy because we are only given this one chance. i want to beable to cherish every moment!
OK SO we had a lesson with Domingo again at the Langfits! it went sooooo good! we talked about baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost. that whole lesson was good. he asked questions and understood it BUT at the end we invited him to pray by himself. of course he said no and after like 30 min of talking and pushin(lovingly) him, we found out why he didnt. he said he really wanted too but because of his spanish accent he couldnt say "heavenly". after we explained that he didnt need to say that and he could say whatever, he prayed. it was so amazing. His prayer was really good! i couldnt help but tear up. one of my favorite things he said was "please give me the power to do what is right" like DOMINGO YES! i love that man!

we had a free lemonade stand in the park with Elder Porter and Memmott. it was so much fun! we gave away free Lemonades with BOM and pamphlets! we got to talk to alot of awesome people that hopefully we can start teaching! we had signs that said "Honk if you love Jesus!"
we got alot of those!! hah #honk!
we gave Doming a church tour and he loved it. it was so fun! the Langfits ended up coming to, so that helped him alot more aswell.
we had a lesson with our other gator Bill Coutts. we had dinner and a lesson at the stednicks. we read the 1 chapter of 1 Nephi. he kept getting off topic and just really didt pay attention to what we were saying. he baked us apple pie, that was good. Sister Stednick made some beef and Deer, and lo-mein. that was sooo good!! we invited him to church and he said no. which, if you dont want to come to church then we cant help you if youre not wanting to act, and try.
so we are not sure what we are going to do yet.
Sunday Domingo came to church!!! that was such a miracle! we(us and the elders) sang in church. we sang the same song that we sung to sister Owen. BUt we did it accapella. how crazy are we. lol  it went good, said the ward members. Sister whatley gave pillowcases she mad with our names on them! they are so cute! i forgot to get a picture of them but ill try and get one.
we then tracted alot. we found a dude that has taken lessons before when he was younger, but hes not really into now, but he still took a BOM so theres a blessing. we took with us tracting a laurel from yw. that was so fun! shes going to make a great missionary when shes older!
Bishop invited us over for FHE at his house so we went there. we talked about Mothers. we talked about the things that make our mothers awesome, and all that. I just Love my Mother so much! it made me a bit homesick but not really aswell cause i know that the Lord is taking good care of her and my family!

so transfer news, Sister D'Vaz is going home, sister week and i are staying comps. in Belle Fourche, and they are closing down alot of areas including Spearfish(the elders area) so Goodbye Elder Porter and Spillett! sad sad day!
