Snakes and DOMINGO

this week was pretty good!! i got a tan line(tannish because im super white) on my feet from my shoes!! so theres that!

ok so monday was amazing!!! we had dinner at a non-members(we get fed by more non members or Less actives than we do actual active members). we made pizza! they said they dont want to join our chuch but they want the community to be more united? The dude made me go get his coffee.. it was so awk. lol i was like.. YO i dont want to get you coffee cause its wrong! lol but i did it anyways. We then had a lesson with Domingo!! this lesson was so awesome! the spirit was so strong! we had been listening to the BOM on cd and has gone through like 4 of them. at the end of the lesson we asked if we would want to be baptized and he said yes! and then we invited him to pray, he did.. with our help. and then he said "so when can i be baptized?" we put DOMINGO ON DATE FOR THE 20~!!!!

Tuesday we had a lesson with Bill Coutts, and Sister Krum came.. it was so bad. us sisters didnt get any word in and sister krum kept talking.. Bill is the type of person to ask deep questions but not listen sometimes. it was just ....#charity we went out tracting and drew a picture of the Plan of Salvation in chalk at the park! that was fun! we went and watched half of the Joseph smith movie with Sister Crippen. we visited a new LA that we found and had institute:)

Wednesday we visited sister Owen and we talked about the the Holy Ghost and we sang her Joseph first prayer to her. i love that lady! we taught Domingo again, we talked about faith and repentance. we did some cool activities that included tea bags, a lighter , water , salt and pepper! he really likes those kind of things! we helped him pray again. We went to the family history class at the church and Bill came! so that was cool! 

Thursday we went out trying to find people for a bit. Sister Deams ( a cute older lady) called us crying so we went to her apt. she is struggling with alot of things and we shared with her a message. we watched the video called " the Savior understands me" we couldnt stop crying.it reminded me of a scripture in alma that God is mindful of all His people no matter what land they be in. he loves us and knows us! 

Friday we went and visited a LA and we read The scripture i mentioned in the previous paragraph. That is so far one of my favorite scriptures this week. this day wasnt so exciting. we had District meeting in Sturgis. we caught a ride with Elder Porter/Spillett. 

we did an activity where we were blind folded and had to try to walk in a straight line.. o dont even know why we did it though. haha

saturday we went to Teras Volley Ball game and BHSU. that was fun! we didnt get any pictures unfortunately. but it was fun! we went and helped Sister Stednick clean her house and shave her dog. yes we/she shaved her St. Bernards. let me tell ya it was hard, and we got sooooooo hairy...*insert barf noise* hahah we then had a lesson with Brother Davied(the lesson was at the Stednicks) we talked about agency and how we need to follow Chirst. He stared smoking again and is still drinking coffee. we yelled at sister weeks and said hes not ready to change and will let us know when he is. 

sunday we went and knocked on Domingos door to get him to church,, short story, he wasnt home and didnt come. Bill Coutts "respectfully declined our offer" to come to church. i gave my talk on the WOW. it went good. i was so so nervous but i felt the spirit and the spirit directed me. its crazy how that happens. faith is so important along with that! faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement and having faith that the Holy Spirt will help guid and direct you. we then had a lesson and dinner at the Stednicks with Bill Coutts. we watched the Joseph Smith movie and had Deer and salad for dinner. He didnt really pay attention to the movie. He then told us that he didnt want to join our church yet, but still wants to learn more? our purpose is to invite others to come unto christ and be baptized. we dont know what to do .. we dont feel like we should drop him just yet so we will see how this wee goes.  we then went to the bishops fireside with the youth. they aske dus questions about missions and how we prepared to go on one. it was fun! we got ice cream too so yay!! Bishop Bucholz is soooo sassy!! probs one of my favorites. besides Bishop Hancock for sure tho.. the sisters havent been able to get into his home for dinner or lesson, BUT with me we will!! we get alot sooo well! hahahah we then taught a lesson at the Seyersdalhs. they are members. we talked about how reading the scriptures are important and how it can help the spirit stay in your home. we commited them to take the lesson from us. so we can practice and they can feel the spirit!:)

ok so i forgot to write a funny story that happened that had to do with snakes(thats why it was in the subject line) 

so on saturday we got home from the stednicks. Sister stednick took us to culvers that was in Spearfish(like 15 min away) and we see this container in front of our door. it had a note on it that said "we made extra and thought of you love the Bucholz family" so we were like YAY BISHOP ACTUALLY LOVES US!! we go inside and open it and guess. what. was. in. it... a SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS DEAD BUT STILL!!!!! I Was CRINGING AND DYING FOR A COUPLE HOURS!!!!!!!!! *INSERT BARF NOISE*

MT. Rushmore, TiWi:( Easter!

this week was so much fun! besides the fact that we got Tiwis in our cars!! i hate driving now.. lol

but i think we might be safer.. we are the last mission in the US. to get them.  

monday was the funnest pday ever! we played some pod ball and it got soo intense!! we plaed ball and alot of other games!! needless to say.. we were so sore the next few days

we had dinner that night at a members(Stednicks) and we had Shrimp and Venison(dear) it was so good! we taught our Gator Bill, it went okay.. there was alot of tension.. he asks questiong in a like rude way.. i dont know. but hes slowly progressing. 

on tuesday we helped Sister Jones with baking and cooking for stuff for their YW fundraiser that night! it was so fun to bake for a bit! we went and saw Sister Crippen(Autistic LA) Shes adorable! we talked to her about the spirit world and strengthening her faith. we talked to Byron on the phone... he is still MIA in utah.. (as of now he is moved there) HE still doesnt have the priesthood and doesnt answer out texts and calls. we went to the yw fundraiser and helped with that. it was fun! 

wednesday was good! We went and taught an elderly member, Sister Owen. We read Alma 50 and came up with ways that we could protect our families and ourselves from Satan. how to buid up our city! we ran into Devon again. we taught him more a bout the restoration.. when we were talking about Joseph Smith he was like "oh that dude who was trippin in the woods?" hahahah yes Devon..... him.... he then made an analogy that included Devon and i dating and stuff...... omg it was weird. we handed him over to the elders. they can deal with him.  we had a lesson with Domingo!! finally! we taught the first half of the plan of salvation! he understood it and he actually prayed(with our help tellin ghim what to say) at the end of the lesson! the spirit was so strong! go Domingo! we went and had dinner at the Chinese Garden, a member from Wyoming was there and he paid for it! we then gave sister weeks a makeover.. i did her makeup and Sister D'vaz did her hair. we are trying to convince her to get straight across bangs! 

thursday we pulled weeds at Leslie and thereasas house. Theresa gave us some onion buds to plant and some flowers. Sister whatley fed us lunch:) we had our interviews with President Hess. Sister Hess is so cute btw! i love her!! President told us that Sister Weeks and i will most likely stay as comps here in Belle next transfer. so yay! we left for rapid this night too.

friday we had Zone Confrence in Rapid City. last night we had a sleep over at the Sister Training leaders. so that was fun. I got to see Elder Hamblin(in my district in the MTC) so that was fun and cool!  WE WENT TO MT RUSHMORE!!! IT WAS SO AWESOME!! i brought my president socks and took a pic with them on there! that was the highlight of my week! we drove back home and got home at like 9pm.

saturday we went and saw a less active names Terra. shes a college student. We talked about Jesuss atonement and watched the new easter video! The spirit was so strong and she opened up to us! She started crying. love her! we weekly planned since we were busy thursday and friday. then we drove back down to Rapid City with the stednicks for the stake easter devotional. Bill, our gator, came and we gave him a tour of the church there. he liked it. he aslo gave us flowers for easter. what a gem.. lol jkjkjkjk we finally got someone to have us over for easter. we had to beg our bishop to find someone for us. we had dinner at a restaurant called the Pacific Rim. its a mixed asian place. i got Pad Thai. that place is so good!

Sunday happy easter! Bishop asked me to give a talk next sunday on word of wisdom.. now thats a topic.  we, and the Elders had dinner(at 1pm) at the Carrs. it was sooooo good! we then came home did our studies and stuff. sister weeks started getting sick so she took an 1.5 hour nap and we did comp study and talked about how we can help her. we had anxiety and is struggling. we helped her with that.  We went to Leslie and theresas to give them a lesson. they are not progressing or showing any desire to change.. they say they smoke and drinking coffee but show no sign of guilty ness or want to change. like they act like its okay to do so. we went there to drop them. Leslie yelled at sister weeks so that didnt help her much. the spirit took over and i threw down. haha we drove to Spearfish so that the Elders could give sister weeks a blessing. we ended up waiting for 1.5hours for them at the park. but we got to finish weekly planning. it was good. 

Sister D'Vaz and i found out we like the same things.. one being One Direction. and Asian food!

This week was pretty fun!! but i forgot to take some pictures so sorry.. haha 

so monday all of your appointments canceled , it was so weird. we also could find any members to come with us to Johns so we had to cancel on him. it was just weird. we were driving and we thought wed go see Grandma Carr. that ended up being the place where we needed to be. It was the anniversary of her sisters death and she was struggling. we showed the new easter initiative and talked about Christ and how he brings peace into our lives. Cause i does, in so many ways. i bought a polaroid aswell! so thats awesome!

tuesday we called all the churches and pastors in Belle to invite their congregations the a fireside us missionaries were putting on. we made apointements with alot of them too! so thats awesome! we had exchanges so the STLs came up from Rapid! SIster Brought stayed with Sister D'vaz and i, and sister weeks went to Rapid with Sister Mcdonald. Sister Brough is the best! We went and talked to a pastor of the Christian Life Center(church), we showed him the new easter video , and the spirit was so strong. we asked alot of questions about our church and we ended up teaching him the restoration! so thats awesome! 

Wednesday we talked with the Methodist pastor, we was alittle rude but none the less willing to listen. we went to the nursing home and showed Sister Owen the new easter video. Shes a cute old lady! we finally went and saw John, he got mad at us cause we didnt come monday, we tried teaching but he kept changing the subject, we just literally bore our testimonies and basically dropped him.  if he wants to learn more he can call us. we went and saw Sister Deams, another cute old lady, the one who paints amazingly! She ended coming with us to Domingos lesson but he wasnt there, I had a feeling we should go stop by and see Jack. we went and he actually was just leaving to go to the hospital. he just had a stroke and fell and got beat up real bad. we said a prayer with him/ we havent heard anything more, but hopefully hes good! 

we had a phone lesson with Byron since hes M.I.A. He wanted to know more about Mormon and gay stuff. it was just weird. we went tracting and found a potential. She used to go to releif society activities with her friend a long time ago. so golden?? i dont know. 

Thursday we had to exchange back:( we did family history for an hour. i got to find some names. so if i get to go to the temple sometime ill do their work! we had lunch at a members. it was like a sunday roast! #sofull we weekly planned a bit. We went to the United Church of Christ! Now, this pastor was so nice and willing to listen and open. we talked about both of our beliefs and after he said a pray and "blessed" us. so theres that. we went and walked around and shoes a few members the new video. we ended up running into Devon, a flirty 25 yo. hahah and thats the first time i met him. We showed him the video.. the spirit is there, he just doesnt want to change. so thats difficult. 

friday we had district meeting and lunch! i made Catalina chicken for them and it was so good! District meeting was so good to! we talked about the blessing that are waiting for us as we do all that we can to find people! and taking that time to find them. we finished weekly planning and went out tracting! we showed the new video to everyone who was willing to listen! we had dinner with the Langfitts. Byron was supposed to come, for his new member lessons but he didnt show up and wouldnt answer anyones texts or calls. this is the time we went hunting for the Open Bible Pastor. the ladies in the church said he lived in the blue house next door, but lo and behold ther was 5 blue houses! do you see our predicament? haha we literally chased him down!

saturday we ended up cleaning the church by ourselves. #1hour 

we went and tried alot of potentials. we hunted some more:) we went and stopped by Leslie and theresas. theyre less active. the spirit was just not there. it was so difficult. but we prevailed. 

 

sunday was fast sunday! we found out some things thats going on with Byron.. so much drama with him. oh my. we went out tracting and inviting people to our fireside. we got a call from a Robert, asking about the fireside, cause we put flyers up. it was so cool. so we had 1 non member come to the fireside!  we ended up giving him a tour of the church, taught him the restoration! it was a miracle! after the fireside brother Krum taught us how to take selfies and Robert asked is sister weeks could play the piano as he singed. The song he chose i need thee every hour. all of us missionaries(7) and 2 ward members joined and the spirit came so strong. he started crying and after it was done we said he was compelled to pray. he did and it was so sweet and tender. such a great experience. Rober is a OLD war vet and has to carry an oxygen thing.. we took a selfie with him too! 

this week was so full of miracles! i love being out serving and cant wait to learn more and grow! i know that Christ is risen! i know that he lives! he loves us!

General Confrence weekend and Petrees name is actually John

our hike last pday was so fun and beautiful! 

We went and visited a Less active sister names Sister Crippen. Shes adorable. She has autism but she lives alone. her house is a mess and she thinks she has a stalker so she boards up her car so he cant get under it..... i feel so bad. She helped us board up her car. We went and visited a member. Shes the cutest old lasy, but she CAN paint! She showed us one of her recent paintings shes working on and HOLY!! it looks like something youd find at Deseret Book!! 

Our Recent Convert, Byron, took us to his friend to teach(Jack, Hes a cute old man). we talked for a few minuets and left nut i had a strong feeling that we should go back and talk to him more.. i didnt know what about but i told them and we went back. i didnt know what to say but the spirit did! he aked us to come back next week so we will see!

We had a family History night and helped Byron with starting his family History. Sister Weeks is a FH GENIUS!!!  a miracle happened. Like 30 names just popped up for him to do their work!! its insane! we are going with him to the temple next week and helping him with baptisms! i printed out a few names to do work for too! i cant wait to go to the temple! The Elders and us are planing a Easter Fireside, and were going to show the new Easter initiative that just came out. if you havent seen it, you should! its so awesome!! mormon.org

we had dinner at Grandma Carrs!! ok so Grandma Carr is a HOOT AND A HALF. if your in my family imagine Lana but as an old lady!! hahah also i hate mushrooms but she fed us some so i had to eat the,... so there ya go.. #adventurous!! funny story she told us about her chickens: she bought some chickens but one of them turned out to be a rooster so she named that one... Caitlyn Jenner.. hahahahha

we had ZTM (zone training meeting) this week too! we had it in Rapid City! i, unfortunately didnt get to see Mt. Rushmore this time but hopefully in 2 weeks i get to! when we got back we went and say a potential(now gator) named "petree" hes hard of hearing so we had to like YELL our lesson!! hahah But at the end he was like.. "actually my name is John" what.. hahah

General Conference was this weekend, as most of you know. IT was so GOOD! we watched all 4 sessions in the church . we were alone the saturday sessions but on the sunday ones we had 2 families with us. They fed us some lunch. so that was good! i liked how alot of the talks focused on teaching your kids always and having daily scripture study and prayer! those things are so important! it helps build your faith and testimony! i know i have grown alot since ive been on a mission and praying/studying constantly! 

Another thing i liked is that we cant be a part-time disciple of Chirst! we need to be All in and LOOK UP! Being a disciple of Chirst isnt about how many likes you get on a spiritual post, its your personal connection with Christ! and with faith He willl bless us! 

i was so happy we got to hear from our prophet! He is the true prophet of the earth today! 

on sunday after the sessions we had a lesson with a potential(now Gatorish) we started teaching him about the restoration, prophets and the Book of Mormon! He kept asking us questions like "where are the plates now?" he tried bashing us alot. Hes stubborn but we can see a potential in him. he seems open and willing. he set up an appointment with us to come back next week. a weird thing is that we claimed that he didnt know anything but called us LDS and pointed stuff out that we didnt teach yet, so thats weird. but got to remember Charity! hahah
