Sister WIll!! Trio for a day

Well, my new companion is sister Will!!! yep, the same one i was with in the MTC!!! this transfer is going to be boss! i just love her! It was so funny, when i walked out the the church to see who my comp was, i was like NO WAY!!!!! so #Thankspres  We have had so much fun so far! ill try so send a funny video we made!.. or i made... lol

We went and saw that lady from last week who took a BOM and told us to come back, well we did and she said she had a dream 3 times that was just like the vision that Joseph Smith had.. lol and then further told us, or hinted at us, she wasnt interested.. oh well, we tried. 

We(sister Weeks) helped sister Crippen de-barricade her car.. long story.. that includes bugs(yes i know.. baby) but it was good! and fun to talk to her and help her. she is an amazing lady! 

Sister Weeks and i had dinner with Brother Cook and Sister (grandma) Carr!! they say they arnt dating, but they really are. they sit next to eachother at church and hold hands.. like come on!! we ate at Perkins, and Brother Cook was like "its like one big happy family!" how tender!! that comment made my day. lol  and not gonna lie, having breakfast for dinner was sooo good! 

we saw sister Owen again.:) We talked about the saviors last days. On easter my amazing mother sent me this cute easter basket with eggs! the eggs included things about the saviors last days and it was so fun to get. so we used that to uplift her and bring the spirit to her. it was so cool. She opened up about alot of things. we took her out to the piano and she played some hymns for us and we sang to them. Sister weeks also played beautiful on the piano too! 

We also got another new gator! he is 15 years old and is a members grandson who is now going to be living with him! he is so cool! the lesson was so cool too. the spirit was so strong! we invited him to be baptized and he said yes! we dont have a date yet though. but im so excited! His name is Austin!

 

Thursday i sent off Sister Weeks:(  im not sure where she went but im sure she is doing awesome where ever she is! so with that happening i was put into a trio with the STLs! sisters Larson and Feeny!! they are so great! Sister Larson is like my twin!  WE had to drop sister weeks off at 545am so we went and got smoothies before going home. we waited 30 min outisde the store until it opened at 7 lol #dedication We had so much fun that day! after i picked up sister will it took us 20 min to find the freeway.. we have no GPS and i was rarely in rapid.. sister weeks took the GPS..But we found out way out!!

 

We have DM every friday right, we used to do it with the Sturgis Elders but they got taken out so we are in a "double date" district again.. lol but with the Black Hills elders.. they are in rapid.. so now we have to drive all the way to rapid(1 hour!) for DM. But thankfully Elder madsen has a soft heart, and said he wants to do District meetings every other area. so one week in rapid and the other in Belle. WE were going to do it in Belle this week but he ended up calling us like 1 hour before district meeting changing it to rapid.. lol  But for sure this week it will be in Belle! 

We tracted alot this week. its so much fun! im trying new ways to talk to people and trying new questions to ask. its interesting. 

We got a call from Chris. He dropped us. He didnt want to continue with the lessons at the moment. so that was sad. then the member he is living with called us and started yelling at us. it was interesting.. lol

Fathers day was sorta hard.. but great, cause i got to reflect on my Father and what he has taught me through out my life. My dad is amazing and im so thankful for him and all that he has done! He truly was sent to my family to help me! 

I have been studying alot these past few days on the Holy Ghost. I was asked to speak at a little girls baptism this saturday on the Holy Ghost.. im thankful cause these studies have helped me ! i love how the witness that comes to sincere investigators before baptism comes through the power of the holy ghost. The holy ghost testifies of truth. All people can know the truthfulness of the BOM through the power of the Holy Ghost. "By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." The Gift of the Holy Ghost comes after baptism.  As a member of the church, we have received the gift of the Holy Ghost by the proper authority, priesthood authority. it entitles us to the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. as we remain worthy. Im so thankful for him and for the comfort, guidance, and testimony it gives me.

also we made a cigarette box that says CTR on it for Chris(before he dropped us) and the when he would have, or any one would have a craving, to pull one of the cigarettes out and there would be a scripture on it. 

transfers! New Gator

SO this week is transfers and im STAYING here!! yay!!! sister weeks is leaving me.. i wont find out who my companion is until i pick her up thursday night.. so cross your fingers!

​They are also closing down the Sturgis Elders so the closest missionaries to me will be 1 hour away. .. so theres that too! 

i forgot my planner so i really cant remember what happened this past week,.. i know short term memory loss... lol;) 

Pday last week was a blast and a half!! sister Weeks, the Sturgis Elders and I went to Deadwood and Leed!!!!! it was so much fun! we had lunch at a casino, walked around Deadwood, a guy tried to bible bash, drove around the small streets up in the hills. We went to the huge mine in Leed.. look down the big hole. We went and toured the Broken Boot Gold Mine in between those two cities!  it was just a good ole fun day! and today we are going on a hike with those elders. we are hiking in Spearfish Canyon.. i am not excited.. haha a member just reminded me of all the cool little bugs and animals that are there.. so pray for me. hahah

We went on exchanges again this week. Sister Larson came here with me. :) it was a blast and a half!! we went and got icecream at culvers! we chalked the Plan of Salvation, BOM , and the first vision! we drove out to Fruit dale.. if you never heard of that .. thats all good. its a population of about 100 people. we had dinner with a member there.  

update on Domingo: no calls no answer.. BUT he drove past us smoking.. soooooooo that was a stab to the heart! 

WE got a new Gator!!! wahoooo Her name is Becca(YEs finally a girl!) 

Shes awesome! We are basically starting from scratch now. She doesnt know anything about Jesus Christ or our church. She seems pretty interested. She also has 2 kids and 1 is above 8 so i guess thatll be another one too!  We got a few new potential gators too, so ill tell ya more about those next time cause we will be seeing them this week! 

We read the BOM with Chris aswell. it was an interesting. We are sure where his commitment level is, so thats what we are trying to figure out. He doesnt agree with acouple of things but we will get him there. in the Lords timing! 

We visited alot of members and Less actives. So something crazy... as we were looking over the ward list we noticed something so crazy.. if ALL of the less actives came and became active we would probs have to split the ward. 

One of the cool lessons we have been doing with members is something i learned from a youth conference. its not as spiritual as it was there but we are working hard on it! so with yarn we create a few lines, that are in random spots in their yard, we blind fold them and give them a prayer rock, and tell them to go. they have to hold on to the yarn and find their way back home. If they get stuck or need help they raise their prayer rock and we lead them to where they need to go. its so fun!! so the whole point of it is praying! We are all children of God. He loves us and knows our needs, and He wants us to communicate with Him through prayer. We should pray to Him and no one else. The Lord Jesus Christ commanded, “Ye must always pray unto the Father in my name” (3 Nephi 18:19). As we make a habit of approaching God in prayer, we will come to know Him and draw ever nearer to Him. Our desires will become more like His. We will be able to secure for ourselves and for others blessings that He is ready to give if we will but ask in faith. i have gained such a huge testimony on prayer. in church yesterday, we had a fast and testimony meeting and i got up and bore my testimony.. (and young man and sister have just gotten their mission calls this week) i talked about how life, and mainly missions are so hard. like Why arnt people floking to the font! it is the truth!!! why is it so hard!? But why would we believe it would be easy for us when it was never EVER easy for Him. As im reminded by that from elder Holland. as i have days when life isnt so easy and the mission is so discouraging i try to remember that in those times i am standing shoulder to shoulder with the best life this world has ever known. through pray and Christ atonement i can be comforted and ask for strength. 

I love this gospel and this time i have to be a set-apart missionary. i am 6 months in and 1/3 of the way done.. that scares me cause i dont want to be. i mean i miss my family and friends and i cant wait to see them again, but i dont want to leave this apostolic work.

Dropping everyone and their dog i swear

ok when i say dropping everyone.. im mean like 3 people. its crazy, one of them was Domingo:(

We had a lesson set up and no show.. not answering our calls, never home. it was so crazy cause just the past week, we were having so many spiritual moments and good times but know.. nothing.. But i know that in the Lords timing he will be ready! i know. 

We saw Chris this week. We sat outside of the church since we couldnt find another sister to come with us. but thats all good. we taught the plan of salvation and used this really cute visual my sweet mother sent me! we also talked alot about Gods love. No matter what we talk about in the gospel it comes back to the love our Heavenly Father has for us. like in the Spirit word, thats were people who live can learn more or about the gospel, He gives us a second chance..

16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Oh so we went and taught Sister Crippen this week, right..... okay i love her to death but she has SOOO MANY DADDY LONG LEG SPIDERS IN HER HOUSE.. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.. I HAD TO LIKE TRY MY hardest not to freak out.. *cringe* We talked about the Holy Ghost and how he can help us. i am so grateful to have the gift of the holy ghost. to have him as my constant companion. to beable to feel the spirit constantly.. 

We went and saw sister Owen again too. We talked about families and temples.. we looked through some of her old photo albums! It was so fun, and to see her face light up as she talked about her photos and family. Also she told us how she got sealed to her husband after he passed and it was so weird but the spirit just flooded the room and both sister Weeks and i both felt like he husband was there. And that he accepted it and couldnt wait to see her again. it was sooo cool!  im so grateful for my family and all the love and support they give me!  i have the best family! 

We had a fantastic DM this week. (ill be sure to add the photos this time of our past DM that we went to the Motorcycle museum!) we talked about Strengths and weeknesses and how we need to focus on our strengths. i love how in Ether it promises us that as we become humble and use His grace, our weaknesses can become strong also! we need to stop worrying about what we do wrong and focus on the savior and the blessings we are apart of. rejoice in the blessings!!  the only way for us to draw closer to Chirst is through His atonement. daily usage.

27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

We went tracting alot this week and it was awesome. i told my self that i need to be bold and confident or else nothing will happen.. So it tried my best to do so, and we got aton of potentials.. now im not saying it was because of me.. it def. wasnt.. but it was the spirit!  at some doors i was like " He we are missionaries for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints, and we have a question for ya. If God gave us another book of scripture would you read it." and stuff like that. 

We drew with chalk at the park a some too. it was fun! sister weeks drew the first vision and i drew a BOM.. cause i cant draw.. it was so cool! a couple came and started talking to us. and the dude wasnt very interested but the lady  was like.. " wow, something about that just resonated with me. i dont know what.. but it does," it was so cool. we told them about Joseph Smith. we didnt get any info cause the left quickly but they have our number!! that was such a cool experience! the spirit was so strong! 

We had Stake conference in Rapid City yesterday! President and Sister Oscorthorp were there! they basically threw down on all the people here to stop being butt hurt that theres not a temple here yet! all they do is complain that their isnt a temple here yet. it was so great! i was like THANK YOU!! some people have to drive like 14 hours to get to a temple, and all you do is 5 hours.
